It probably should go without saying that whatever you find to be your preferred version of M.A.M.E. Not to knock Mednafen, I just have no experience with it. I think we've gotten to a point where the plugins that come with ePSXe are good enough for most PC's, and PCSX may be another good option for PS1. Yabause may be a good Saturn option as well, as long as you stick to BIN/CUE(by Darkwater would probably be most preferable), rather than MDS/MDF. Which is why sometimes you need a 2nd emulator, for any console/handheld/PC. Though it hasn't updated, and may not again, nullDC has decent compatibility, so you might cover a greater range between it and Demul. Still agree with BGB as a backup, just in case there is GB/C incompatibility. Though I probably shouldn't disagree, I'm just still comfortable with Visual Boy Advance for the Game Boy line. I like Ootake for Turbo(tough I don't typically play CD games, which would require ISO mounting software in this case). Although, the filters you can use with RetroArchs emulators most likely do a greater job. I feel like there should be some blurring of some sort, as things just don't look right when they're too sharp. ![]() ![]() Unless things have changed, I'd still recommend 9x over GT, if only for the video filters. Remember, if you have any emulators you think work better than the ones listed above, feel free to share! Knowledge is power, and all that. ZX Spectrum: The Fuze core on RetroArch, or if that doesn't work for you, MAME. Anything that uses FMV probably won't work. Philips CD-i: MAME, although it only runs a small subset of games. Neo Geo Pocket/Neo Geo Pocket Color: Mednafen. If that doesn't work, AppleWin is pretty much your only option. WinUAE if you HAVE to have every single option, otherwise unneeded.Īmstrad CPC: Caprice Forever, MESS for the GX4000Īpple II: MAME works pretty well. ![]() If something on it doesn't work, try Project Pheonix, found up in the Atari section.Īmiga: FS-UAE for ease of use, make sure you get the latest dev release. Model 2 Arcade Games: Model 2 Emulator (Yep, that's the name of it.)ģDO: 4DO. SNES: Higan, or if your computer isn't quite up for it, SNESGT. Jaguar: Project Pheonix, along with its English translation patch, found here. NOTE: Anything that lists "Mednafen" will also work with the correct RetroArch or BizHawk core, if you prefer those!Ītari 2600: Stella, or its RetroArch coreĪtari 7800: EMU7800, MESS, or the ProSystem RetroArch core If you know of anything that you think works better, feel free to list it here! These are my personal suggestions for every system. This isn't old! Old things are lame! Stop being old! Back in Ye Eldest Times of 2008, we had a thread about which emulators were the best to use for each system.
